I Mustache You A Question

Ha!Ha!Ha! Not really.
The shirt above is my inspiration for today's post and for the onesie I freezer paper stenciled last night.
It is from one of my favorite sewing/craft blogs http://www.iammommahearmeroar.blogspot.com/.  She is very talented!  Her font is cuter than mine, but I took the easy route and used my cricut to cut the words out for me.

I forgot the ' in front of STACHE...oops!

It turned out cute, but not as cute as my loves.

Strep Throat AGAIN!

This morning Brady woke up with a sore throat and fever. I just knew it was strep again. There was a cancellation at the Dr. office so we were able to get in at 8:30. And sure enough, he tested positive for strep. This is his fourth time in less than a year! We are going back when he gets better to see if he is a carrier and ask about getting his tonsils out. Hopefully we will get something figured out!

Hallelujah!!!

Praise the Lord!  He got the Commerce store!

I don't think it has fully sunk in yet.  Can't wait to see what this year has in store for us!

God has a plan!

The sun came out and not a cloud was in the sky.  They played and I got to take pictures of something other than green beans (sorry!).  More to come!

Roast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Preston finally said it...my beautiful red dutch oven was worth every penny!

Which is better? or worse?

Is it better for kids (and adults) to eat their veggies with a not so healthy add in to make them tasty, than to not eat them at all?  Or is it worse?  Maddie is not a fan of green beans, at all.  I usually don't make them.  But, not wanting to accept defeat, I decided to give it another shot.  I had her help make them, which she LOVED, and I added cheese.  Cheese makes everything better!  But...  Well you get the idea.  Are you ready for some green bean pics?  LOL.

As Maddie would say, "They're so stinky!" as she crinkled up her nose.

She ate a whole spoonful, but still didn't like them.  They are "slimy"...

One proud Momma, I am

I have to admit, my first thoughts after reading the comment Brady's teacher wrote on his very first report card went something kinda like this, "well...ok...but is he smart...is he NOT the little genius I always knew he was?".  LOL.  I am kidding.  A little.  I know he is by no means even close to genius status, but to say, "I am pleased with his PROGRESS."  What?  So, as I always try to do, I looked at the positive side of what she wrote and refocused my thoughts.  Brady is a very sweet boy.  His teacher didn't have to say anything nice.  She could have focused her comment only on what he needs to be working on.

I pray he will forever be "sweet and always think of others".  (AND bring home nothing but A's!)

A peek inside

my life the doll house.
Brady:  I'm not jumping on her.  I'm jumping over her.
Me:  That would mean your feet don't touch her.
Brady:  Oh...
Maddie:  Come up Bubba, it will be fun!  I promise.
Brady:  NO!!!  Get down, you're going to break your head.
Maddie:  Really...ok, that was kinda scary.
Me:  Get out!  Can you not see I'm trying to take a bath?
Brady:  I just want to ask you something.
Me:  What?
Brady:  Can I go plug in my spy watch so it will be charging up?
Me:  YES!  GO!
Maddie:  Can I go pee pee?
Me:  ........sure.
Maddie:  Let's cut paper up into itty bitty tiny pieces and sprinkle it all over the floor and pretend it's snow!
Brady:  No, I am going to go ask mom, for the 20th time, if I can play a game at pbskids.org.

Me:  Quit jumping on the bed!!!
Maddie:  Ooookaay.
2 minutes later...
Me:  Get off the bed!!!
Maddie:  I'm not jumping, just bouncing.

I cracked myself up writing this.  And if you know my kids very well, hopefully you had a good chuckle too.  On another note, I made chicken noodle soup for the first time today.  IT WAS AMAZING!  I am so proud of myself and I got that wonderful "feeling" like I had accomplished something great.  LOL!  I guess I need to cook more often.

Momma

Happy Birthday Granny!
I am not a writer and try not to pretend to be one, but I have a little to say about my mom. Not long ago I was a boy crazy unappreciative teenager. I don't know why, but I was. I didn't understand how hard my parents worked to provide for us. They didn't have fancy jobs, we didn't live in a big beautiful home, and my mom drove a car that was embarrassing. But we had everything we needed and most importantly, they loved us. I have "grown up" a little over the past few years and realize I am who and I am in large part because of mom. She raised us in church and built that foundation and for that I am so grateful for.
My mom didn't have a storybook childhood and was told after 30 years of marriage that she wasn't wanted anymore, but has overcome the obstacles in her life. I am so proud of who she is today. She isn't perfect, nobody is, but she loves her family with everything she has. She wears her heart on her sleeve. She deserves the utmost respect. I guess only now that I am a parent can I truly understand what she has done for me. A mother's love is unconditional and forever.
Thank you for raising me in a loving home, for putting up with me through those teen years, and now for supporting me as I journey through motherhood. I love you Momma!

Grrrreat week!

A few of the reasons why:

1. Preston was on vacation!

2. It snowed and Paris closed down. Brady didn't have school Monday or Tuesday!

3. Preston took Brady to school for me on Wednesday and Thursday and I love him for it.

4. I found a beautiful bargain at the thrift store, but I'm having trouble finding the actual value of it online. It's going to be gifted so no picture for now.

5. I made Pioneer Woman's "The Marlboro Man Sandwich" tonight and it was better than ever! It's NOT healthy, there is a LOT of butter, and they are amazing! You really should check out http://www.thepioneerwoman.com/ for the recipe and her pictures are much better than mine.

6. A late Merry Christmas and an early Happy Birthday to me! I got this sewing machine!!! I really only got it because Preston wanted a new gun and he didn't want to feel guilty, but hey I'm ok with that. So he got a Springfield XD-45 and I got this beauty.

I am thankful for the time I had with my family this week. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
