Redo: Red, White, and Blue Style!

So what do you think!
I LIKE IT!  REALLY LIKE IT!!!
I ran short on lace.  Huge bummer!   It would have been even cuter all lace.   BUT then it wouldn't be so patriotic.

The last couple of days Buzz has come to live with us and I just couldn't leave him out of our mini photo shoot!
I don't know how he can stand having a major wedgie, but then again he is a superhero space ranger and they can handle anything!  I wish I had a picture of it...it's bad.

A Redo

I CAN'T SEW BIAS TAPE!!!
I have tried and tried...never ends well.
This skirt was $3.50 at Walmart and I added the yellow and grey bias tape to it. It turned out just swell (as long as you didn't look too closely at it) and I had her wear it for her 4th bday party.
You can barely see it in the pic below.

After one wash, it now looks like this.   :-(

Unruly bias tape and holes.  Boo!!!

Today I am going to give the skirt (only worn once) a new look!  This lace will hopefully do the trick.
I'll be back tomorrow to show you my stunning results!  Hahaha!!!

Outside

So close, but not a drop.
*UPDATE:  Never mind...WE GOT RAIN!!!  It was late, but we stepped outside to enjoy the sweet smell of such a blessed rain.

Disposable Camera Pics

Playing at Gramma and Grandpa's house with cousins!

We went to a really small carnival and it reminded me so much of the one I went to growing up.
Extremely old rides, attended by extremely weird unique people, that cost a fortune to step foot on.

My Burse

I wanted a purse.
It ended up more like a bag.
So I am calling it a "burse".
I winged it because I didn't have a pattern...
so please do not judge.  I know that can be hard, but just try.  ;-)
(oh, I know you wouldn't do that!)

I used embroidery floss to add a few details and crocheted a bow.

The strap ended up being too long so I added the two knots to shorten it up.

As you can see here, I already have a very cute bag (thanks to my awesome friend Annie!).  I didn't need another one!

Right now I am using it for all my yarn and crochet projects.  It helps keep me from having yarn everywhere and I can even take it in the car with me when we are traveling!

So now I have another bag or burse...hmmm...what should I do with it.
This stripe fabric is the inside of the pockets.

This is the fabric inside the burse.

Does it look too "kiddish" for a 30ish mom?

I Heart Pinterest!!!!!!!

If you are looking (or just dreaming) for some new decor, pinterest is the place to go! The pics below are some ideas and inspiration that I have found for our bedroom or guest room. I can't wait to get started, although it may be awhile...patience is a virtue, right?

Pretty Groovy Plates

I haven't been thrifting for awhile and I'm getting the itch.
These plates are a Goodwill find from a year or so ago. They are the perfect size for Brady and Madelyn and were only a $1 each (I found 4 of them!).
BTW...What do you think that blue/green colored leaf is?  LOL!  I liked the shape of the plate and the colors and didn't even notice the leaf until I got home.  Oh well, I like them anyway.
Pretty cute plates
for some pretty sweet kids

(except Madelyn has suddenly decided to call me a poo poo head.  Yeah.  Tuesday night I gave her the wrong stuffed animal to sleep with and didn't feel like going on a search or arguing.  Next thing I hear is, "Mom is a poo poo head!".  I guess she was talking to the "wrong" stuffed animal.  Uuuum.  Excuse me.  What did you just say?  I don't think so!  We do not call people names and definitely not your mother!!!  Then yesterday afternoon I was cleaning out the little pool getting ready to fill it up.  She asked and asked and asked to water the tomato plants.  No, no, and no.  Guess what?  I'm a poo poo head again.  Where is this coming from?  Well, I have a feeling it won't happen again.)
on a pretty fun summer day!

For all the cool dads!

You may have already seen this one.
I get a good laugh from it everytime, so let's see it again!!!

Up. Down. And up again, like nothing happened.

 Meet Zoe!
She was sitting on a slope playing in the grass.
Sweet Zoe reached out a little too far and over she went.
I can't believe I got this shot!
She got up and crawled away.
Zoe is a tough precious doll!

I Had Good Intensions To Eat You

But there you sat and were ignored. Now just look at you!

At least you haven't started growing "hair"!
