Guess who smells like she got a little too close to a skunk? Gag! She had a bath and smells a tiny bit better but we won't be snuggling anytime soon. (Not that she sits still long enough to snuggle.)
I got a note in Maddie's backpack that said she has finished all the books for their curriculum and she is starting the advanced reading books now! Whoooohooo! I am a proud Momma!
I gained 2 lbs this week and what did I do, I ate whatever I wanted today. Not good. Up down up down up down...I have to move past this and pull myself together. Tomorrow is a new day and I will do better.
Can you believe I have posted a pic (although mostly bad phone pics) everyday for almost a month? Yaaaaay!
This morning Maddie crawled into bed to snuggle with Preston and she fell back asleep.
We drove 15 miles to a tiny town in the middle of nowhere to try out a new restaurant. The kids loved the paper on the table to color on. The food was good too and we will be back to try something else soon!
I got in a little nap while Preston changed the oil in our cars and rotated my tires. At least one of us had a productive day!
Maddie can spend hours out there playing with Lucy and anything else that will get her filthy!
It was a great day! I ran a little too much for my first run in weeks and now my knee is sore. But I decided to get ready and take my Brady out for lunch! We invited his friend Wayne and they chose McDonalds so they could play. I bought a new skirt that was on sale! I hope it's as cute on as it was in the pic. We had taekwondo and luckily it was a pretty easy day. For supper I fixed Malt-O Meal and the kids were not thrilled despite all the brown sugar added. I bet they'll be super hungry in the morning! Preston loved it so I call it a win. :) A real meal will be prepared tomorrow!
I usually have a treat on Wednesdays after a good weigh-in for the week. This week I lost 2 lbs so I celebrated! I realize this doesn't really make sense but for now I still want something yummy as my reward. One day I will move past wanting food or even thinking I need some sort of reward at all. But tonight I enjoyed my DQ blizzard. Tomorrow will be my first run in 5 weeks! It's going to be like starting all over again...but I'm kinda excited to get back to it!
Both Brady and Maddie can earn Six Flags tickets for reading 6 hrs. We didn't start right away and now we are having to read as much as we can every night to get our 6 hours done before the deadline. Last year Brady earned a ticket but we never used it. He didn't really care to earn another one, but I promised him we would go this summer if he did.
Preston took a few quick pics before church this morning. I turned 33 today and I do believe it's my lucky year! Brady.... He has super sensitive eyes like his Dad and was doing his very best to keep them open. LOL!
This pic was taken at Maddie's bday party in May. I started in July working hard to lose some weight and now...
I am down 36 lbs! Since Oct. I have lost 6, so lately it's been going SLOW! I go up 2 down 2 up down up down. That is why I have decided to blog all about losing this weight! I need motivation and I think it will help me stay on track a little bit better if I report my progress here.
I will no doubt be up a lb. in the morning, but I'll get back to work tomorrow! Preston got my skillet cookie for me and it was good but they over cooked it this time so I only ate the middle soft part.
It was BEAUTIFUL out today so we played some basketball, got out a softball and our mitts, and even threw around the football. Then we decided to take Lucy for a walk. Maddie picked some weed flowers along the way and Preston gladly took them to carry for her. Such a good Daddy!
It was the perfect birthday and I want to say Thank You for all the gifts, cards, calls, and birthday wishes for me! You all made me feel quite special.
The best aisle in all of Walmart! I'm happy to report that I didn't buy anything on it...but soon. I have struggled losing weight this month but have slowly made a little progress. I'm going to post a pic of me from this summer before I started on this journey and a progress pic of me on my 33rd bday! What do I want for my bday, you may ask. I want a skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for lunch, nothing else, and I don't want to share! Lol! I bet Preston can handle my request.
(Maddie after school-not a great pic, but the only one I took today)
On our way to cheer practice this evening I remembered it was picture day... Ugh! Her uniform, shoes, pom poms all at home. Plus they were at 5:30 and practice was at 6 so we had already missed them. I hate it when I completely forget about something! They said she should be able to get hers taken at the game on Sat. while they are doing the basketball pics. It's not a huge deal since I can just take one myself, but it bothers me that I forgot. I guess I need to start using that calendar app that sends me alerts me if I have something scheduled.
This morning we woke up to a pretty heavy snowfall. It was cold and wet enough to make the roads slick, but the snow didn't last too long. I guess they are expecting more tomorrow because school starts 2 hrs late in the morning. Whoohoooo!
was Preston's first day back to work and my first day back to reality. While he was home he spoiled me by taking and picking the kiddos up from school, activities, etc. I don't get much done while he is here. Who wants to clean/cook when you have someone to hang with? Today I worked on getting caught up with the house stuff and it felt great to be productive.
Today was a slow day and I don't have much to write about. I did take our coins to Walmart to one of those counting machines. They wanted 9.8 cents for every dollar. What! So I bought paper rolls to do it ourselves and saved $5.
Tomorrow Brady has his first basketball game and Maddie will be cheering as well. It will be interesting but fun to watch I'm sure.
Tonight at Upward cheerleading practice Maddie kept doing the splits. She would get further and further down each time. By the time I decided to take a picture, she had gotten it down but it HURT. There were almost tears after and I just had to post the pic with proof of the pain.
I dropped and shattered the screen on my newer iphone so Preston fixed the SIM card to fit into my old one. The camera STINKS and I can't wait until I can upgrade again. He also bought a new screen and tools to fix it online, had everything out and as he was putting it back together broke a cable (wire) strip that makes the touch screen work. Now my phone looks pretty again, I just can't open the screen. ;(
First of all, I have to brag on my kiddos report cards. Brady had all A's and Maddie had all +'s!!! I am very proud of them!
Doesn't she look 13 in this picture? She is growing and changing so much.
Today we picked Maddie up from school and headed to Paris so Preston could get finger printed for a concealed handgun license. He has his testing this weekend. As soon as we got back it was time for church so Maddie ate a late supper tonight in her pj's and ear muffs, of course. Lol!
I threw in a picture of Lucy just for fun. Last night she ate the head off of Maddie's new little wooden horse she got for Christmas. I hope I can repair it somehow, but have my doubts. :(
Brady and Maddie had a great day back at school. At 4 Maddie had gymnastics, 5:15 Brady and I had taekwondo, and finally at 6 was Maddie's Tiny Tigers taekwondo class. We ate at one of our favorite Mexican food places and I ordered a side of their "killer" beans with flour tortillas. YUM! Come visit and we will most likely take you there. So as I look back at my week thus far, I have talked mostly about food and sleeping... I apologize. I live an extremely simple uneventful life. And I'm definitely ok with that!
Preston helped the kids shoot bb guns this afternoon. Oh my did they have a blast! A few hours later I noticed Maddie had a rash all over her so we headed to the Dr. Thankfully it was just hives, but now I need to figure out what caused it. School starts in the morning...boo! They are excited and I guess I am too, except for the whole waking up early part. One of these days I am going to magically become a morning person.
They were all smiles this morning before church. It had been a month since they have been able to go to Sunday school and Maddie was super excited. This year she gets to go upstairs like the big kids do! We ate lunch with some friends and then they invited us to go roller skating. I had so much fun! It was much easier than ice skating.
This morning as I was reading through some blogs Maddie brought me this piece of paper that says "God you are my friend cause You made us." And then my heart melted. As much as I want my kids to know right from wrong, I want them to desire a relationship with God. Sometimes I think they "get it" more than I do.
I have to admit I kept forgetting to take a pic throughout the day, but I think this bedtime bath pic couldn't be more perfect!
Today we started back up with taekwondo after a short Christmas break and Brady and I got our yellow belts!! Woot! Woot! As soon as we got home we headed back out to eat at our fairly new Ihop. Kids eat free from 4-10 daily and we have been meaning to take advantage of that since they opened. I have a feeling we will be Ihoping (or would it be Ihopping...hmmm) it more often. Breakfast for supper is the best!
