May 5th

May 5th is a very special day! I can't believe it has almost been 5 years since we were blessed with our baby girl. I will never forget driving an hour to Santa Fe at 3 o'clock in the morning or watching it snow just after she was born. 

Usually we don't talk a whole lot about their birthdays until the party planning begins, but OH MY GOODNESS this girl has never been so excited or ready for something in her short 5 years.  For months she has been asking, "When is my birthday?  How many months 'til my birthday?  How many days 'til my birthday?"...and because she doesn't really get months, weeks, and days yet, she always follows the question with, "Is that long?"

I really want this birthday to live up to her hype!  While the party will be simple like last year with a small pool and a slippy slide (but with a bigger better slide!), I will most likely get a little carried away with the decorations.  I enjoy that part of party preparation.  Today some of the supplies and decor I ordered came in the mail!  I LOVE these straws and would drink from them every single day if I could.

But the most important part of this May 5th will be celebrating Maddie with you, our family and friends.  It wouldn't be a party without all of you!  We will eat yummy food, open presents, and let the kiddos play in the water as long as they like.  Pray for great weather!  With air mattresses and sleeping bags I think we should have room for anyone that can come.  Hope to see ya soon!!!
