I got to work!

Finally!

This project (vintage sheet bunting/banner) has been on my to do list forever. Today I decided to get it started! Yaaaaay! I ironed, traced, and cut them all out...blah. But it's going to turn out super duper cute, I'm sure of it!

May 5th

May 5th is a very special day! I can't believe it has almost been 5 years since we were blessed with our baby girl. I will never forget driving an hour to Santa Fe at 3 o'clock in the morning or watching it snow just after she was born. 

Usually we don't talk a whole lot about their birthdays until the party planning begins, but OH MY GOODNESS this girl has never been so excited or ready for something in her short 5 years.  For months she has been asking, "When is my birthday?  How many months 'til my birthday?  How many days 'til my birthday?"...and because she doesn't really get months, weeks, and days yet, she always follows the question with, "Is that long?"

I really want this birthday to live up to her hype!  While the party will be simple like last year with a small pool and a slippy slide (but with a bigger better slide!), I will most likely get a little carried away with the decorations.  I enjoy that part of party preparation.  Today some of the supplies and decor I ordered came in the mail!  I LOVE these straws and would drink from them every single day if I could.

But the most important part of this May 5th will be celebrating Maddie with you, our family and friends.  It wouldn't be a party without all of you!  We will eat yummy food, open presents, and let the kiddos play in the water as long as they like.  Pray for great weather!  With air mattresses and sleeping bags I think we should have room for anyone that can come.  Hope to see ya soon!!!

Napkin Holder

I got soooo excited when I stumbled upon this napkin holder today. Lol! Crazy, I know!  I guess it doesn't take much to make me happy.

I have been keeping my napkins in the pantry or just sitting in a pile on my counter top, but now they will have a home!!!

Catching up

Sorry I'm not doing a very good job keeping this little blog going. :( I'm hopeful to have an April header sometime in April! ;-)

I haven't been taking pics like I normally do, but these phone pics will get you caught up on what we've been up to.

We had this dog show up at our house.  The kiddos named him Argenot (after a dog in a movie) and he was really sweet.  We left for a weekend and he was gone when we got back.  And we kinda miss him.

We have been working hard outside.  All the bushes that lined the front of the house are gone and we put in two flower beds, one on each side of the entryway.

We added window boxes (basket thingies ;-) to two of the windows.

We made a quick trip to Arkansas to see my sister and Miah run a half marathon!  13.1 miles!!!

They trained so hard for it and I am proud of both of them!

 Brady and Maddie had Easter parties at school...it was a busy busy week!

Family came to see us!  We had a picnic in the park and Grandma bought us ice cream after...so much fun!

Grandparents spoiled them with all kinds of Easter goodies!
